Highlights from Day 1

The 100 year old Historic Bayside North Shore Tennis and Racquet Club Dubbed “The Last Great Bastion of The Great Gatsby Era of Bayside" is experiencing a phenomenal revitalization and renaissance over at its location off Bell Blvd across from Crocheron Park, P.S 41 and the Buzzy O’Rourke children’s playground.
The Tennis Club that’s been host to some of America’s best tennis stars like Vitas Gerulaitis and US Open finalist Butch Seewagen (beat Jimmy Connors) was experiencing a lull in membership in recent years however, thanks to the dedication of a few passionate Baysider’s, the management efforts of Go Tennis , support and encouragement from members of the Bayside Historic Society and the re-energizing of the clubs long standing tennis tournament that was broadcast for the first time last year over BaysideLiveTV.com, the club has made a remarkable comeback and the fate of its future as one of Bayside’s last remaining gems now seems secure.

Bayside now has its own version of the U.S Open Tennis and is sanctioned by the USTA.
The Prize Money has ballooned from last years $500 to this years impressive $3,000 which has attracted not only the best regional players but up and coming tennis champions looking to make a name for themselves. With 30 pros now entered into the tournament ( up from 7 last year) with a whopping 21 matches to determine the champion the Bayside Open Tennis Tournament is quickly rising into a league all its own with the tennis matches themselves promising to be as exciting as any.

The private club is also open to the public during the tennis tournament so those who have never toured the grounds or been in its clubhouse will now have the opportunity to see and enjoy one of the oldest and greatest gems of Bayside and be a part of its history.
The admission is FREE for the tournament and there are concession stands with refreshments and food along with a bar in the clubhouse for those seeking alcoholic beverages during the matches.

Live musical entertainment will also be
taking place at different times during this upcoming weekend so a very special Bayside experience is in store for all those who come down to the club during the three days of the tournament ,
just for a day, or even just an hour to witness this spectacular Phoenix rising like a star.

This years tournament is guaranteed to be one of the most competitive and high stakes tournaments to ever grace Bayside's legendary North Shore Tennis & Racquets Club. The 2017 Bayside Open will feature 30 players from all across the east, vying to win this years grand prize of $3000.

Below is the bracket and the scheduled times for each game, which will be updated as the matches are played.
