The Robert Mann Dance Centre
The Robert Mann Dance Centre is one of the finest dance schools in all of Queens. Located on 214th Street and 41st Avenue, the Dance Centre has been at the forefront of quality dance education since its inception in 1965. The faculty has an incredible reputation, with teachers coming from all over the United States and across the world to teach in Bayside.
The Robert Mann Dance Center is continuously growing and inspiring more young people to grow as dancers and people, accomplish their goals in competitions, and move on to even more success when their time at RMDC is over. RMDC students hold numerous accomplishments from awards, to scholarships, to trophies. Many RMDC students have been accepted into dance academy programs in professional schools like: LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts, Frank Sinatra High School of Performing Arts, Benjamin Cardozo High School Dance Program, NYU Tisch School of The Arts, Marymount College, Fordham University, Queens College, and the famed Juilliard School in NYC. Others have made it even farther performing in on and off Broadway shows, in Disney Productions, on cruise ships, and some are now dance instructors in dance studios throughout the country.
The success of the dance centre is in large part to its founder and director, Robert Mann. Mann started his career in dance at the age of eight and he began dancing professionally in his teen years. After that he moved into teaching, achieving his teaching credentials from the prestigious Dance Masters of America, Inc. Mann would later go on to become president of the Dance Masters and now serves a their National Executive Secretary. Along side these accomplishments, Mann has been on the faculties of many major dance academies and has been on judging panels for national and international competitions. Mann's expertise is on display each day in the dance centre. Mann is personally responsible for the selection of the teaching staff, and his expertise ensures that students have an extremely talented and experienced teaching staff.
