“The Sullivans I Know”

The Sullivan’s I Know…
A friendly smile, a quick hello, here’s the daily news, and a shot of Jamo
That’s the Sullivan’s I know
What will you be having A Vodka Seltzer, a grapefruit beer, or a roadie for the train that’s near?
That’s the Sullivan’s I know
Too many characters to mention, too many stories to recall but so many friends to forever remember one and all.
That’s the Sullivan’s I know.
A neighborhood Cheers, a safe haven, an oasis on the Boulevard. If you needed to find a home away from home it wasn’t very hard.
That’s the Sullivan’s I know
Winters by the fireplace complaining about the cold, summers on the patio heat yet it never got old
That’s the Sullivan’s I know
Mitch, Liam, Kevin and Susie
George, Brian, Hot Dog and Jocko too.
Sean, the Mikes , Jimmy, Paul and Chris
A finer group of people I will surely miss.
That’s the Sullivan’s I know
Cops, electricians, firefighters, lawyers and Wall Street millionaires too. We enjoyed each other’s company and enjoyed a few TuTu’s..
That’s the Sullivan’s I know
We solved world problems, we argued sports, we often laughed and sometimes cried together yet over a beer or two We would often make a tough day better.
That’s the Sullivan’s I know
Bricks and mortar can be replaced but memories and friendships can’t be erased
So we will say one last Goodbye and drop one more Jamo glass
As the sun sets on the patio on its final eve
I know in my heart the spirit of Sullivan’s will never truly leave.
That’s the Sullivan’s I know.
